September is Hispanic Heritage Month. It’s an opportunity to share the stories of exceptional Hispanic Americans to educate and inspire, including individuals who have contributed to the field of optometry. It’s also an occasion to draw attention to the higher risks of developing vision health issues and vision loss that exist among the Latino community. Research shows that Hispanic Americans tend to not seek eye care as often as needed compared to other groups. Our goal for September is to educate brokers about these higher risks and discuss strategies for marketing plans on Hispanic markets to improve access to quality vision care.
